Early Registration Dates
The Tennessee Arts Academy (TAA) Summer Institute Online Application Portal opens October 1 and continues through March 1. All qualified applicants are accepted in their content area of choice.
Regular Registration Dates
TAA Summer Institute Regular Registration begins on March 2 and runs through the end of June or until classes are filled.
2026 TAA Summer Institute Dates
The TAA Summer Institute will be held July 12 - 17, 2026 on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. The first session begins on Sunday, July 12 at 4:00 PM and the final session concludes on Friday, July 17 at 1:30 PM.
Arts Academy America
Arts Academy America follows the exact same dates and schedule as the TAA Summer Institute. Arts Academy America participants attend the same classes with the same faculty, activities, and special events as their colleagues who are enrolled in the TAA Summer Institute.
Virtual Academy
The current plans are for the TAA Summer Institute to be an on-campus experience. If travel, activity, occupancy, or assembly advisories or restrictions are issued or imposed by federal, state, or local health and governmental authorities, and/or by Middle Tennessee State University because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the TAA Summer Institute will switch to a virtual event and will alert all registered participants at the earliest possible date as soon as a decision has been made.

Daily schedules are listed below that illustrate the typical day a participant will encounter at the TAA Summer Institute. Please note that in each content area (music-theatre-visual art-arts leadership) activities may be adjusted on certain days that can slightly alter the listed times.
